Honors and Recognitions

  • Z - enoate assisted Meyer - Schuster Rearrangement: A new variant of the classical Meyer - Schuster rearrangement of (z - enoate)propargylic alcohols has been developed for the nucleophilation of allenols for the first time, from our research group at IIT Madras. This is now known as “Z - enoate assisted Meyer- Schuster Rearrangement”.
  • A new type of Favorskii rearrangement has been discovered in our laboratory at IIT Madras.[Santu Sadhukhan and Beeraiah Baire.
  • The Hexadehydro Diels - Alder (HDDA) reaction: A new variant of classical Diels - Alder reaction has been discovered and developed for the generation of benzynes from non - aromatic precursors, during the post - doctoral research at University of Minnesota at Prof. Hoye’s Lab. This is termed and popularized as “The Hexadehydro Diels-Alder (HDDA) reaction”
