Associate Professor

DR. ARNAB RIT

Biography

After graduating from IIT Kharagpur in 2007, Dr. Rit has earned his doctorate degree in Organometallic Chemistry in 2011 from WWU Muenster, Germany. After that, he was a post-doctoral researcher at RWTH Aachen, Germany for about 2 years and Marie-Curie post-doctoral fellow for one and half year at the University of Oxford. In December 2015 he joined IIT Madras as an Assistant Professor.

Education

  • 2011 – Ph. D from WWE Muenster, Germany
  • 2007 – M. Sc from IIT, Kharagpur
  • 2005 – B. Sc from University of Calcutta

Research Interests

  • Synthesis, structure, and reactivity (catalytic application) of multifunctional N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) based organometallic compounds
  • Development of new ligand systems for polynuclear compounds–cooperativity among metal centres
