I am excited to announce the launch of our new Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry program in the Department of Chemistry. This program has been a long-standing aspiration of our department, and several faculty colleagues have dedicated their time and energy to bring it to fruition.
The BS program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in Chemistry and allied Science subjects, blending theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory experience to prepare them for careers in research, industry, and academia. Also, the curriculum offers a large number of choice based learning opportunities ensuring an enjoyable learning experience at IIT Madras Campus.
Our faculty members are committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering an environment of innovation and discovery. The program envisages to equip students with essential skills in organic, inorganic, physical and theoretical chemistry, along with cutting-edge interdisciplinary research.

The four year BS program is designed to nurture Chemistry undergraduates students with strong conceptual understanding of Chemistry and allied subjects, with an ability to apply and analyse the knowledge in a wide range of practical contexts, for the benefit of the society at large.
