Aamod Desai is an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Madras. His research is mainly focused on the structure-property correlation of porous materials, such as, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which are developed for energy security and environmental remediation. He completed integrated MS-PhD from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, under the supervision of Prof. Sujit Kumar Ghosh. His thesis was centered around the development of MOFs for the capturing air and water pollutants. Subsequently, he moved to University of St Andrews for a postdoctoral stint with Prof. Russell E. Morris and Dr. Robert Armstrong, where he worked on coordination polymers for energy storage devices, such as, sodium-ion batteries.
