Biography

Suvam was born in Balurghat, a small town in West Bengal, India. He completed his B.Sc. degree with Honours in Chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur, in 2016. He went on to earn his M.Sc. in Chemistry from IIT Madras in 2018. His master’s thesis, titled “Metallaboranes and Metallaheteroboranes of Group 5 Metals”, was awarded the Best Thesis in Chemistry that year. Suvam subsequently joined Professor Ghosh’s lab as a Ph.D. student, where he is currently working on small molecule activation through metal–ligand cooperativity. Beyond the lab, Suvam enjoys reading detective fiction, cooking, and following football-especially watching FC Barcelona in action.
