Biography

I am from a small village Hogla, West Bengal. I did my B.Sc from RKMRC Narendrapur, Kolkata and completed my M.Sc from IIT Madras. I joined as a PhD student in January, 2017 under the guidance of Prof. sundargopal Ghosh.

Education

  • M. Sc from IIT Madras
  • B. Sc from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur

Research Interests

  • I am currently working on metal-boron chemistry that includes the reaction of monocyclopentadienyl metal halides or hydrides with monoborane reagents (BH3.THF, LiBH4.THF or BHCl2.SMe2), containing one to four or more transition metals and one to ten or more boron atoms. Metallaboranes that incorporate early transition metals or rare earth are sparsely explored area of cluster chemistry and the challenge is to find synthetic routes. The common theme that drives much of the chemistry is the use of a number of transition-metal (e.g., Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Ru, Co, Rh) monocyclopentadienyl chloride complexes as starting materials, and exploring their reactions with monoborane reagents and employing them in catalysis.
